Tiki Time Cocktail
13 Jun 12 3
Thinking of tiki cocktails conjures up visions of rum, tropical fruits and exotic ingredients. There is no doubt that rum plays a leading role in the tiki cocktails of yesterday and today. That being said, many great tiki cocktails use gin as a base. Charlotte adds her Tiki Time cocktail to that list.
Improved Tequila Cocktail
24 Jul 12 8
"Improving" a cocktail does not necessarily mean making it better. The term simply means something was added to the traditional combination of spirit, sugar, water, bitters associated with an old fashioned style cocktail. In this case, Charlotte "improves" this tequila old fashioned by adding Maraschino and two types of bitters.
29 May 12 4
Juleps are the perfect drink to beat the heat. Crushed ice helps give a deep chill and slow dilution over many sips on a hot afternoon. A julep can really be made with any spirit. In this variation, Charlotte uses ROOT, a spirit distilled from organic, indigenous American ingredients, as the base for her julep.
Farmer’s Daughter Cocktail

Perfect any time of year, the Farmer's Daughter plays off the indigenous American flavors of Lebkuchen, or German ginger snap, inherent in SNAP. Serve this drink cold in summer and ht in the winter. You can mix up one or two or an entire bowl for a big party.

Lemon Grass Drop Cocktail
11 Jul 12 0
The tropical flavors of lemon grass and pineapple make this twist on the Lemon Drop a special treat for the summer. A lemon grass infused simple syrup, Stoli Citros Vodka and the very floral St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur deliver further depth of flavor and help make this a solid step up beyond your first lemon drop.
Violet Fizz Cocktail
10 Apr 13 12
The fizz is a classification of mixed drink that is a variation on the Sour family of cocktails. The addition of carbonated water (soda) adds the "fizz". First mentioned in the 1887 edition of Jerry Thomas' Bartender's Guide, the fizz has many variations, most having to do with additional ingredients such as egg white, egg yolk or whole egg. For example, the Ramos Gin Fizz, one of the most famous variations, includes not only egg white but cream, sugar, orange flower water and both lemon and lime juices. Charlotte fell in love with the Violet Fizz at the venerable Varnish in Los Angeles. This beautiful cocktail epitomizes all that is wonderful about the Fizz and its numerous variations and is perfect for Spring brunch.

Sponsored: Airmail Cocktail Variation
14 Jan 15 0
Similar to the French 75 Cocktail, the traditional Airmail Cocktail is rum based and uses honey as a sweetener and lime juice instead of lemon. Arguably, the Airmail could also be thought of as a sparkling Daiquiri. In this variation, Charlotte layers on the flavors of both fresh muddled pineapple and The Bitter Truth Aromatic Bitters which work very nicely with the Flor de Caña Seven Year Rum.
Sponsored: New Spanish Style Gin and Tonic
6 Jan 15 1
In Spain, gin and tonic cocktails are served up in wine glasses. This style of serving is not necessarily anything new. What is new is the use of aromatic and eye-catching garnishes that bartenders in Spain and across the globe are using to enhance and embellish the simple G&T. In this episode, Charlotte builds a delicious cocktail and chooses garnishes that best represent the base spirit while also creating a proper drinking experience.

Remember the Maine Cocktail
21 Aug 13 6
Originally found in Charles H. Baker's “The Gentleman’s Companion: Being an Exotic Drinking Book or Around the World with Jigger, Beaker and Flask”, the Remember the Maine is the perfect cocktail to showcase an aged single malt like the Glenfiddich 18 year old. Similar to a Sazerac in its use of Absinthe, that is where the similarities end. Either way, it is an elegant cocktail that derives it's name from the USS Maine that sunk in Havana Harbour in 1898.
Scottish Pear Cocktail
7 Aug 13 2
Beginning in August, pears come in to season. The Scottish Pear Cocktail, one of Charlotte's favorite creations, is the perfect cocktail to celebrate the appearance of such a diverse and delectable fruit. Of note is Charlotte's use of two base spirits in this cocktail which builds a unique and robust platform for the remaining ingredients and enables each spirit to shine through while complimenting the other.
Pineapple Arugula Smash Cocktail
24 Jul 13 1
Adding herbs to cocktails is nothing new. Herbs enhance and augment flavors inherent in many base spirits. They are especially apt ingredients in cocktails using gin and tequila. The Pineapple Arugula Smash Cocktail uses the peppery and vegetal arugula as a main ingredient as it plays extremely well with similar flavors Charlotte finds in the Milagro Select Barrel Silver Tequila.
Barney Shrubble Cocktail
3 Jul 13 4
A shrub is an old concoction that was originally intended to preserve fruit, or at least their flavor, using sugar, water and vinegar. Increasingly, it became common to add a dash of your shrub, be it strawberry, blueberry, rhubarb or what have you, to some ice and dilute with water, either flat or carbonated. Recently, it's popularity as a cocktail ingredient has become popular once again. In this episode, Charlotte adds a delicious raspberry shrub with Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur to create the Barney Shrubble cocktail. Yabba Dabba Doo!

New York Sour Cocktail
8 May 13 5
This twist on the classic New York Sour brings Glenfiddich Single Malt Whisky from across the pond to take the place of American whiskey. The solera aging process of this 15 year old single malt, lends itself well to a touch of red wine, or in this case, Lillet Rouge, as a bit of a float over the top of the cocktail. Rounded off by layers of citrus, this sour style cocktail is perfect whether you are in New York or Edinburgh.
