What is the benefit to wrapping in parchment and then covering in foil?

Wrapping the cheese in wax paper or parchment keeps the cheese from smothering in plastic wrap.  These protect the cheese from loosing moisture.  Also to protect the cheese from other foods in your refrigerator. Enjoy!

So this applies to cheeses purchased at supermarkets as well?  In an ideal world, I’d like to buy cheese with really quick turnover at the retailer, but at most markets in the US a semihard cheese will be cut, wrapped tightly in plastic, and then sit in a coffin case or multideck for a week before someone brings it home.  Is it still alive?
