The “true Italian style” (i.e. traditional/original style) would be to serve it on the rocks. Serving a Negroni up is the ‘American style’ - not that there’s anything wrong with that ;)

Hmm… A Negroni with Punt e Mes. Never tried that, although I’d had more than one opportunity to do it I always use regular sweet vermouth. I fear the Punt e Mes would overpower the drink with its strong flavor… Perhaps changing the ratio would help to keep it balanced.

Punt e Mes in a Negroni works a lot better than Carpano Antica Forumula, that I find overpowers everything.  It would the Oxley in this case.
Punt will give you turbo-charged, very bitter aperitif.

What about the other series? Won’t you record anymore?

ADAM, I JUST READ YOUR COMMENT ON THE NEGRONI AND I AM THRILLED THAT SOMEONE ELSE FINDS THE CARPANO ANTICA VERY OVER POWERING. IHAVE EVEN TRIED CUTTING IT BACK BUT STILL IT IS JUST TOO “STILL THERE”. I AM GOING TO TRY YOUR SUGGESTION AND WILL LET YOU KNOW.
