Scottish Pear Cocktail

By CVoisey

Beginning in August, pears come in to season. The Scottish Pear Cocktail, one of Charlotte's favorite creations, is the perfect cocktail to celebrate the appearance of such a diverse and delectable fruit. Of note is Charlotte's use of two base spirits in this cocktail which builds a unique and robust platform for the remaining ingredients and enables each spirit to shine through while complimenting the other.

I’ve been looking for a nice addition to my fall repetoire, and I think I’ve found it!

What are your thoughts on using a modified simple instead of the agave? Something like a ginger syrup, that would further compliment the pear and the botanicals from the gin.

Hi there

Glad you like the Scottish Pair, it certainly is a great way to slide into fall.
I have not tried this recipe with a ginger simple syrup but it sounds like a tasty idea. Gin and ginger is a great match, I wouldn’t go too bold on the ginger profile since Hendrick’s is a little more delicate, but I think it could work really well.
Have a go and let us know how it tastes!
