We had the great pleasure of sitting down with the owners of the world famous Zig Zag Cafe in Seattle, Washington, Kacy Fitch and Ben Dougherty. They were gracious enough to discuss the history of this fantastic establishment as well as let us in on some classic and original cocktail recipes. Look for the recipes in future episodes.

It’s about time you posted again. I was getting depressed.
Great episode!
I wish I lived in Seattle so this could be a regular bar for me.
I shouldn’t complain since I live next to Manhattan and we have a whole bunch of fabulous cocktal lounges and bars.
What I liked the most is the Guys attiutude about hospitality and making your patrons feel welcom which is the precursor to being a great bar!
I cannot give the proprietors of the Zig Zag Cafe enough credit for their vision. They have made me a hero to many of my friends and clients when I expose them to the Zig Zag experience. The secret is that they are the real heroes of the cocktail world and I am a bit jaded that the secret is out.
VIVA Kacy, Ben and especially Murray! I bow to you all with the utmost gratitude and respect, Kampai..!

these guys are top notch and the evolution of the bar has been remarkable to watch...even at a distance.
just to say hello to my friend Ben...it’s good to
see you again, even on a video…
I have spent 30 years in search of the best bartender and the best bar. Zig Zag is it, hands down. Ben and Kacy are great, and Murray is astonishing. Great selection, superb drinks, decent food, a nice atmosphere, and the best hospitality in the business.
Gotta get out to visit these guys next year. Met Kacy at the Carousel bar at Tales of the Cocktail last year and was tickled pink to make his acquaintance.
I love your site, Robert, which has led me to several others. I finally visited the Zig Zag and was treated royally by my new favorite bartender, Murray. He had me tasting and reading everything in the bar. A warm, welcoming bar and warm, welcoming people. Thanks, Murray and Ben. Kudos to Jamie Boudreau over at Vessel while I’m at it. And thank you, Robert, for this informative site and the drinkboy site. Keep up the good work, guys. It is much appreciated.
I am Sooooo glad I found the Zig Zag Cafe. These guys, all of them, not just Murray, know what they’re doing and have greatly enhanced my experience of learning about and enjoying cocktails. Well done! Thank you Robert!

my sentiments exactly i could not express my feelings more aptly about how i too feel about the comitment to quality and excelence found in the hearts and minds of other bartenders who believe as i do.i am inspired once more and draw strength in the knowledge that i am not alone in this matter.great episode can’t wait to see upcoming releases.thanks!!!!! cece
