Metaxa Sangria

This is a perfect sangria recipe for any time of the year. Use whatever fruit is in season to create infinite variations.
Recipe
Ingredients
1/2 cup Metaxa Brandy
2 - 3 Tbsp. agave nectar
1 small orange, thinly sliced
1 small lemon, thinly sliced
3 cups diced watermelon, or other seasonal fruit
1 750 ml bottle red wine
Instructions
In a pitcher, combine all ingredients and stir around with a spoon, crushing some of the melon.
Refrigerate to let the flavors marry for at least 2 hours before serving or overnight.
Serve over ice, garnished with watermelon wedges or slices of citrus.

This looks great ! What type / Variety of Red Wine do you recommend - does it need to be a better quality or just a Generic red table wine. Thanks
Hi Steve, that’s a great question! For this particular sangria recipe, I recommend using a merlot or syrah. I also like to use a Spanish Rioja wine, too!

I made the Grapefruit Negroni yesterday and loved it. I think I put too much Grapefruit juice in it though. I will try again in a few mins using less. Thanks.
